Privacy Policy for On Earth Recap
On Earth Recap (on device the title may show as On Earth) is a private week and year recap of where you went on a map. Your routes, places, and place photos stay on this iPhone. The app is free and shows third-party ads.
Who publishes this app
Sai Laksha Technologies publishes On Earth Recap. Developer: Sreedhar Lakshmanan.
Location
We request When In Use location only, so the app can draw your route and detect places while On Earth Recap is open. We do not request Always / background location.
Location samples and place names are stored in the app’s private storage on this iPhone. They are used for app functionality (your recap). They are not used for tracking, and they are not sent to Sai Laksha Technologies.
Place photos
If you add a photo to a place (camera or photo library), that image is saved on this iPhone with that place. Photos are for app functionality only. They are not uploaded to our servers and are not used for advertising or tracking.
Share
When you tap Share, the app creates a recap picture card. That picture leaves the device only if you choose to send it through the system share sheet. Share is not live GPS sharing.
Information stored on your device
- Location samples used to build week and year recaps
- Place names and optional place photos
- Language, distance units, and appearance preferences (UserDefaults)
There is no account or login. This data is not sent to Sai Laksha Technologies.
Advertising
We use Google AdMob to show a banner on the week/year recap screen. Google may collect an advertising identifier and related device data according to Google’s policies, to show and measure ads.
On iOS 14.5 and later we may ask for App Tracking Transparency permission. You can refuse. Ads can still appear; they may be less personalized.

Information we do not collect ourselves
- No name, email, or account on our servers
- No Sai Laksha Technologies analytics or crash reporter
- We do not sell your location history or place photos
- We do not upload your route unless you send a share picture yourself
Children’s privacy
On Earth Recap is for a general audience. It is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children on our servers. Ads are provided by Google; we do not target children.
App Store privacy label
- Data used to track you: Device ID — third-party advertising (AdMob), if you allow tracking
- Data linked to you: Precise Location — app functionality (recap); Photos — app functionality (optional place photo); Device ID — third-party advertising
Location and photos are not used for tracking by Sai Laksha Technologies.
Data retention and deletion
Use Settings → Delete all data to remove trips and place photos on this iPhone. Deleting the app also removes local On Earth Recap data.

If this policy changes, we will update the date on this page.
